Meeting between STMAD and PMI President of China Strategic Cooperation
State Tobacco Monopoly Administration vice-director Wang Gongcheng met with PMI China strategic cooperation president Chen Jingyi in Beijing on May 21.

On May 21, Wang Gongcheng, member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the State Administration of Tobacco Monopoly, met with a delegation led by Chen Jingyi, President of China Strategic Cooperation of Philip Morris International (PMI) in Beijing. The two sides held a friendly discussion.

 

Officials from the State Administration Office (Foreign Affairs Department), Development Planning Department, Economic Operations Department, China Tobacco Investment Management Company, and China Tobacco International Limited attended the meeting.

China Customs Administration released e-cigarette export data for January and February 2025, showing varied monthly performances in 2026.In January, the export value was $940 million, a decrease of 6.2% compared to January 2025's $1.02 billion. Philip Morris International U.S. (PMI U.S.) announced that it will close the Swedish Match cigar manufacturing facility on Columbia Highway in Dothan, Alabama. UK Opens Applications for Vaping Products Duty and Duty Stamps Scheme From April 1
HM Revenue and Customs announced that from April 1, 2026, UK vaping product manufacturers, importers and warehousekeepers can apply for approval under Vaping Products Duty (VPD) and the Vaping Duty Stamps Scheme (VDS). Under new GOV.UK guidance, Vaping Products Duty will take effect on October 1, 2026 and will apply to all vaping liquids, whether they contain nicotine or not.
