PMI Korea Yangsan factory expands production of TEREA and SENTIA stick
Philip Morris International (PMI) expands production at its South Korean factory, creating a key global export hub for heated tobacco products.

Key points:

Philip Morris International (PMI) has launched a new production line at its Yangsan factory in South Korea, with an annual capacity of 40 billion cigarettes. The main products will include the IQOS series sticks "TEREA" and "SENTIA", as well as traditional cigarettes.

Non-combustible products account for 60% of the total production, mainly due to their high export ratio. Currently, about 30% of the products are exported to 12 Asian countries, including Japan.

The Yangsan factory will be transformed into a global hub for exporting heated tobacco products, serving as a key production center for Philip Morris International (PMI) in advancing its "smoke-free future" strategy.

According to Nate.News on April 10th, Philip Morris International (PMI) Korea is expanding the production of new tobacco products at its Yangsan factory. The factory currently covers an area of 73,670 square meters and has the capacity to produce 40 billion cigarettes and sticks annually.

In addition to producing traditional cigarettes such as Marlboro and Lucky Strike, this factory also produces specialized sticks for the IQOS ILUMA series called "TEREA" and "SENTIA." The ratio of non-combustible products to combustible products is 6:4. PMI Korea Company stated that it is the only heating tobacco production base in East Asia.

The company plans to promote the products "TEREA" and "SENTIA" as the representative heated tobacco products of the factory, and aims to develop the factory into a global export hub. Currently, around 30% of the products produced at the factory are exported to 12 Asian countries, including Japan.

The relevant official stated that the high proportion of heated tobacco product production is due to its higher export ratio compared to traditional cigarettes, and the Yangsan factory is also a core production site for Philip Morris International (PMI) in achieving its "smoke-free future" vision.
