According to travel-retail industry reports, British American Tobacco (BAT) Global Travel Retail introduced the VELO Travellers’ Collection Summer Editions in August 2026, adding three destination-inspired nicotine pouch variants: Mexico, Spain and Sweden.
The expansion continues the travel-retail positioning of the VELO Travellers’ Collection. Rather than targeting a single domestic market, the series is designed for selected airport duty-free and global travel-retail channels.
VELO Adds Three Destination-Inspired Summer Editions
The new Summer Editions include:
● VELO Mexico Summer Edition
○ Flavor: Tropical Ice
● VELO Spain Summer Edition
○ Flavor: Tropical Ice
● VELO Sweden Summer Edition
○ Flavor: Peppermint Storm
The three variants are part of the VELO nicotine pouch portfolio and use destination themes to reinforce the travel-retail concept.
The VELO Travellers’ Collection previously included destination editions such as Japan, UAE, UK and Qatar. The new additions further expand the collection.

From Standard SKUs to Travel-Retail Exclusives
The key feature of the VELO Travellers’ Collection is not a new product format, but the use of destination-led design to strengthen travel-retail positioning.
Compared with regular market SKUs, travel-retail exclusive products often focus on:
● Travel occasions;
● Destination identity;
● Collectibility;
● Limited experiences.
Through the VELO Travellers’ Collection, BAT Global Travel Retail is positioning airports and travel-retail locations as platforms for brand engagement and exclusive product experiences.
BAT Expands VELO’s Global Travel-Retail Strategy
The Summer Editions launch continues BAT’s broader approach to travel-retail product development.
By introducing destination-themed variants, VELO creates differentiated product offerings for international travelers while increasing brand visibility in airport duty-free environments.
Unlike conventional market launches, travel-retail products are distributed through airports, duty-free operators and cross-border travel channels, allowing brands to reach consumers from multiple regions.
Travel Retail Emerges as a Strategic Channel for Next-Generation Nicotine Products
Major tobacco companies are increasingly using travel retail as a channel for exclusive product launches.
Philip Morris International (PMI) previously introduced the IQOS ILUMA i PRIME Skylens airport-exclusive limited edition, combining exclusive hardware with airport-based experiences.
BAT’s VELO Travellers’ Collection Summer Editions represent another approach: using limited nicotine pouch variants and destination-inspired designs to strengthen travel consumption experiences.
For established nicotine brands, travel retail is becoming more than a sales channel, serving as a platform for brand discovery, product innovation and consumer engagement.
