According to Trend, citing the Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND), the Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization has annulled state standard AZS 941:2023, “Electronic Cigarettes. General Technical Specifications.”

AZSTAND said that in connection with the application of Law No. 338-VIIQD of December 30, 2025 amending the Tax Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as amendments to the Azerbaijani laws “On Tobacco and Tobacco Products,” “On Advertising,” and “On Restrictions on the Use of Tobacco Products,” the import, export, manufacture, storage, wholesale and retail sale, and use of e-cigarettes and their components have been banned from April 1, 2026.

 

The issue of cancelling the state standard was discussed by a technical committee

 

AZSTAND said that, in this connection, the issue of cancelling state standard AZS 941:2023, “Electronic Cigarettes. General Technical Specifications,” was discussed within the technical committee for standardization “Seeds and Planting Material, Tobacco and Tobacco Products, Fodder Plants” (AZSTAND/TK 27). The committee was established on the basis of the Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

AZSTAND has removed the standard from the state register and state fund

 

AZSTAND said that as a result, it removed the relevant state standard from the state register of нормативных документов по стандартизации and from the State Fund of normative documents on standardization.
