JT announced that all tobacco capsules for the with2 infused tobacco system will be upgraded to a new BIG PACK format beginning August 4, 2026. The update covers all five existing variants, increasing the package contents from five capsules and one cartridge to ten capsules and two cartridges while retaining the same flavor profiles.

The suggested retail price for the new BIG PACK is JPY 1,200. Compared with the current package priced at JPY 620, the updated format doubles the contents while slightly reducing the cost per capsule set. JT said the change reflects packaging optimization rather than a product reformulation.

According to the company, consumer research found that many with users typically purchase multiple packs during each shopping trip. The larger package was therefore developed to improve convenience and better match existing purchasing habits.

Launched in September 2023, with2 is an infused tobacco system rather than a conventional heated tobacco product. According to JT, the platform uses its Infused Technology to generate vapor by heating a liquid, which then passes through capsules containing tobacco granules to extract tobacco flavor instead of directly heating tobacco leaves. The company says the system offers zero preheating time, minimal tobacco odor and a cleaner flavor profile.

JT said the refreshed BIG PACK will be available for all five existing tobacco capsule variants without changing flavors or product lineup.

2Firsts Observation

Rather than introducing new flavors or hardware, JT has focused on optimizing packaging based on observed consumer purchasing behavior. The move reflects a strategy centered on convenience and replenishment efficiency, suggesting that the with2 platform is entering a more mature stage focused on user retention and repeat purchases.

CTIHK expects first-half 2026 revenue to fall 25%-30%, mainly due to lower tobacco leaf imports and delayed cigarette shipments to China’s domestic duty-free market. Its 2025 revenue mix—nearly 90% from tobacco leaf-related businesses and less than 1% from new tobacco products—shows continued exposure to traditional supply chains and trade variables.
