FDA Extends Swedish Match U.S.A. Inc. General Snus MRTP Order
FDA Extends Deadline for Public Comments on Swedish Match's MRTP Application for General Snus, Meeting Scheduled for June 26.

According to the official website of the U.S. FDA, on June 5, the FDA released the final application materials for the renewal of the Modified Risk Tobacco Product (MRTP) order for Swedish Match U.S.A., Inc.'s General Snus product and announced the deadline for public comments. Public comments must be submitted to the docket by 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time on July 5, 2024, to ensure that the FDA can consider these opinions.

 

The application materials have been edited in accordance with applicable laws and can be found on the FDA website. Before making a final decision on the MRTP application, the FDA will consider all available information, including public comments and recommendations from the Tobacco Products Scientific Advisory Committee (TPSAC).

 

The FDA recently announced that the TPSAC meeting will be held on June 26, 2024 to discuss these renewal applications. The public can participate in person or online. Written submissions can be sent to the contact person by June 20, 2024. Individuals wishing to make a formal oral presentation should notify the contact person by 5 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) on June 11, 2024.
