2Firsts, September 4, 2025,-Yahoo Finance, citing Fortune, reported that U.S.-based nicotine pouch startup Sesh has raised $40 million in funding. The round was led by venture capital firm 8VC, with participation from musicians Post Malone and Diplo, as well as comedian Andrew Schulz.

 

According to its official website, 8VC is a venture capital firm based in Austin, Texas, focusing on transformational technologies in sectors such as infrastructure IT, biotech, healthcare, defense, and logistics.

According to the report, Sesh’s product was developed with involvement from Thomas Ericsson, the inventor of Zyn. The company has submitted a marketing application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is currently allowed to operate in the U.S. market.

 

In early 2025, the FDA approved several Zyn products for marketing, including flavored variants, signaling a regulatory pathway for other nicotine pouch companies with pending applications.

 

Sesh has relocated its headquarters to Austin. The company currently employs around 30 full-time staff and its products are available in over 5,000 retail stores across the U.S. and Canada.
