Victory Vape Fined for Illegal Advertising of Nicotine E-cigarettes
According to Radical News, Australia's TGA has fined Victory Vape $157,752 for alleged illegal advertising of nicotine e-cigarette products.

According to a report by "The Radical News," the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of Australia has issued a fine of 157,752 Australian dollars (approximately 104,000 US dollars) to online retailer Victory Vape. This case involves allegations that the company illegally advertised nicotine e-cigarette products.

The company received six fines amounting to $112,680 AUD, while the two directors each received six fines totaling $45,072 AUD.

The introduction of these fines follows similar actions by the TGA against other companies, including issuing fines totaling $588,840 to a group of companies whose actions involved the illegal importation of nicotine e-cigarettes containing prohibited ingredients that did not meet the relevant standards.

In Australia, nicotine e-cigarettes are classified as prescription drugs and cannot be advertised to the general public. Engaging in such advertising is considered a violation of the 1989 Therapeutic Goods Act, which could result in severe fines and even civil or criminal court proceedings.

2FIRSTS EXCLUSIVE|China Breaks Up $6.8 Million Illegal Hookah Tobacco Operation as Market Expands
Chinese authorities have dismantled an illegal hookah tobacco operation worth more than 46 million yuan ($6.8 million), detaining five foreign suspects and seizing over 500,000 boxes of tobacco paste. The case comes as hookah expands across China’s nightlife sector and attracts overseas operators, including former vaping entrepreneurs. It also raises a central regulatory question: whether waterpipe tobacco will follow China’s private-sector e-cigarette licensing model or be reserved for the state tobacco system, as with nicotine pouches, in the years ahead.

Japan’s Heated Tobacco Tax Changes Reshape Consumer Choices, Survey Reveals Impact of Price and Income
A consumer survey by Japanese heated tobacco information platform RELAZO found that rising tobacco prices and planned heated tobacco tax changes may influence smoking decisions among Japanese consumers. The survey covered 49,879 men and women aged 20 to 69 nationwide. It found that around 40% of respondents cumulatively indicated they may consider quitting when a pack reaches ¥600 (approximately US$4.1), while nearly 90% expressed potential quitting intentions at a ¥1,000 (approximately US$6.8) price level. The survey also found significant differences by income level, with lower-income respondents showing greater sensitivity to price increases.
