Wales Plans to Ban Disposable E-cigarettes by 2025
Wales Online reported on April 22 that the Welsh government plans to ban the sale of disposable e-cigarettes from April 1, 2025.

According to a report by Wales Online on April 22, the Welsh government has announced plans to ban the sale of disposable e-cigarettes starting from April 1, 2025.

Welsh Rural Affairs Minister Huw Irranca Davies stated that the decision on the implementation date was made to give businesses "the necessary time to prepare and receive support in the form of guidance and communication materials." In January of this year, all four UK nations completed consultations on the issue, attracting over 27,000 participants. The Welsh government has made it clear that it will actively pursue a ban on disposable e-cigarettes, while also supporting the UK government's legislation to raise the smoking age and restrict the sale of e-cigarettes.

We are also taking measures to ban the supply of disposable e-cigarettes. These products have a significant impact on the environment and are not conducive to promoting a sustainable circular economy. Currently, we are developing relevant regulations with the goal of implementing a ban on disposable e-cigarettes in Wales by April 1, 2025. This regulation will be in line with similar laws in England and Scotland, and will be supported by the publication of guidance documents and promotional materials to assist businesses in preparation. These materials will be developed in collaboration with business representative groups.
