ASH Advocates Free NHS Smoking Cessation Support in Scotland
Scottish charity ASH advocates for smokers to use free professional quitting support from NHS to improve their health.

The Scottish charity ASH is conducting a campaign advocating for improved physical and mental health for smokers by encouraging them to utilize free specialized quit-smoking support provided by the National Health Service (NHS).

 

The CEO of ASH has stated that quitting smoking is one of the most proactive steps a smoker can take to quickly improve their health and well-being, reduce the risk of long-term illnesses, and save money. If smokers make the decision to quit smoking as a New Year's resolution, not only will their health improve by the end of January, but an average smoker can also save around £250 within a month.

 

ASH encourages people to seek local or national quit smoking services.

The Canada Border Services Agency said border officers at the Point Edward port of entry in Sarnia, Ontario, seized more than CAD 4.5 million worth of illegal tobacco and nicotine vapes over a seven-day period. The agency said the contraband was entering Canada from the United States and described the seizure as part of ongoing efforts to prevent illegal products from entering the country and disrupt organized crime.
