BAT Invests $87 million in NTP
BAT launches €80 million investment plan in Croatia, introducing new tobacco products and reducing carbon emissions by 65%.

1. British American Tobacco (BAT) launched an €80 million ($87 million) investment plan at its factory in Kanfanar, Croatia, to produce NTP.

 

2. The factory has installed a biomass heating system worth €4.7 million ($5.1 million), which can reduce carbon emissions by 65%. BAT has also invested nearly €19 million ($20.7 million) in sustainable development.

 

3. Currently, the factory employs over 520 people, while BAT has provided over 6000 job positions in Croatia.

 


 

2Firsts, reporting from Shenzhen - BAT launched an investment plan of €80 million ($87 million) in Croatia. with aiming to start production of new tobacco products at a factory located in Kanfanar, Tportal reported.

 

In addition, BAT officially launched a biomass thermal energy production equipment worth €4.7 million ($5.1 million), at the factory, which reduced carbon emissions by 65% for the factory. 

 

In addition, BAT invested nearly €19 million ($20.7 million) in sustainable initiatives, including investments in the Kanfanar factory and Croatia Tobacco Company.

 

Ante Šušnjar, Croatian Minister of Economy, said:

 

"The Ministry of Economy and the government of the Republic of Croatia have been strong partners in such investments. It is worth emphasizing that these investments have made significant contributions to our energy goals and transition. These projects are funded by the Ministry of Economy and European funds."

 

Zvonko Kolobara, General Manager of the BAT Adria cluster, added:

 

"Thanks to this investment, the factory's production capacity has increased by 40%, with products now being exported to the entire European Union. Additionally, the number of employees has increased by 30%, with over 520 people currently employed at the Canafanar factory. Throughout the investment cycle of production transformation, we have also continued to invest in sustainable development. So far, we have invested nearly 19 million euros in our two factories."

 

BAT currently employs over 1,500 staff in Croatia and provides more than 6,000 job positions.
