BAT Invests 1.5 billion Bangladeshi Taka in Tobacco Factory
British American Tobacco Bangladesh plans to invest BDT 1.5 billion in its Savar factory, according to the Business Mail.

According to a report from Business Mail on September 24th, British American Tobacco Bangladesh company is planning to invest BDT 1.5 billion (USD 13.6 million) in its factory located in Savar, Bangladesh. This investment, as disclosed by the Dhaka Stock Exchange, will be funded through internal sources and bank financing based on the company's cash flow.

 

According to reports, British American Tobacco Bangladesh is constructing a duty-free warehouse to store packaging materials, leaves, and finished products. The company has also invested in on-site facilities for electrical, fire detection and protection systems, air conditioning and ventilation systems, IT systems and security systems, as well as employee welfare and factory service. Additionally, they are constructing reinforced concrete roads and establishing an underground drainage system.

 

Earlier this year, the company invested in the Saval factory to establish emergency capabilities and leverage upcoming export opportunities.

 

The headquarters of British American Tobacco Bangladesh is located in Dhaka, with cigarette factories in Dhaka and Savar, a green leaf threshing plant in Kushatiya, and a green leaf redrying plant in Manikganj.
