BAT Agressively Promotes its HTP GLO in German Hall of Vape Expo
BAT utilizes aggressive pricing strategy for Glo HYPER X2 and VUSE products at German e-cigarette expo.

On May 6, at the German e-cigarette exhibition The Hall of Vape, 2FIRSTS learned that British American Tobacco (BAT) subsidiary's heated tobacco brand Glo HYPER X2 and disposable e-cigarette brand VUSE are adopting an ultra-low price strategy to attract customers and are selling directly at the event.

According to 2FIRSTS' on-site investigation, the promotional posters at the BAT booth advertised a price of 9.9 euros for 2 VUSE units, but the actual selling price was even lower. For just 9 euros, customers could obtain the following products:

  • 1 Glo HYPER X2 (heated tobacco device)
  • 2 VUSE (disposable e-cigarette products)
  • 8 boxes of tobacco sticks

BAT requires consumers to register at their online specialty store to make a purchase, and the 8 boxes of heated tobacco sticks are given as registration gifts, delivered by mail.

BAT on-site sales staff told 2FIRSTS that the actual selling price was lower than the promotional poster's listed price because they wanted to increase Glo HYPER X2 sales by offering VUSE and tobacco cartridges as gifts.

2FIRSTS found on Amazon that the price of 1 Glo HYPER X2 unit is 29 euros.
