Brazil Federal Revenue Service Joint Border Enforcement Seizes 4,700 E-Cigarettes and Smuggled Phones
On the morning of August 1, staff from Brazil's Federal Revenue Service (RF) seized a batch of smuggled goods during a routine inspection, including 4,700 e-cigarettes and about 100 mobile phones, with a total value of approximately $44,802. The driver has been arrested.

【2Firsts News Flash】According to a report by h2foz on August 1st, Brazilian Federal Revenue (RF) officials seized a shipment of smuggled goods during a routine inspection on the morning of August 1st. They confiscated 4,700 e-cigarettes and approximately 100 mobile phones, with a total market value of around 25,000 Brazilian reais (approximately $44,802). These prohibited items were cleverly hidden in a truck with Paraguayan license plates.

 

This seizure operation took place at the Friendship Bridge international inspection station connecting Brazil and Paraguay, with the assistance of the national police. The truck involved was driven by a Paraguayan driver and was intercepted by the import area duty team.

 

The driver was arrested on the spot and transferred to the Federal Police Station in Iguazu Falls City.

 

Currently, the involved truck and all contraband items have been moved to the Federal Tax Bureau parking lot for further legal processing.
