Brazilian Man Arrested for Smuggling 50,000 E-cigarettes on Highway
Brazilian man, 41, arrested for smuggling nearly 50,000 e-cigarettes and other items on SP-595 highway in Castilho.

According to Globo news, a 41-year-old man in Brazil has been arrested for allegedly smuggling nearly 50,000 e-cigarettes and other items on the Gerson Dourado de Oliveira Highway (SP-595) in Castilho (SP).

 

According to highway police, in a joint "impact operation" with federal police, truck drivers were forced to stop at the five-kilometer mark. During the inspection, 49,000 e-cigarettes, 8,000 packs of cigarettes, 31 tires, 1,300 lighters, as well as various fishing gear, personal hygiene products, toys, and other items were seized.

 

The suspect was arrested and taken to the Federal Police station in Arasatuba (SP), where their belongings and vehicle were confiscated.
