Brazilian Police Bust Illegal E-cigarette Operation in Propriá City

Brazilian police seize large quantities of illegal e-cigarettes in Propriá, with confiscated flavoring materials. Sellers charged with smuggling and corruption.

According to a report from a8se, on the morning of March 11th, Brazilian police seized a large quantity of illegally sold e-cigarettes in the city of Propriá. Additionally, during this operation, ingredients used to make e-cigarettes were also confiscated.

According to reports, the investigation was launched following an anonymous tip about the illegal sale of e-cigarettes. These illicit products were allegedly being sold to teenagers for 50 reais each (approximately $10.04), while the flavorings were priced at around 100 reais (approximately $20.08).

The local police department stated that the seized products were imported from overseas without an invoice. Currently, the individuals investigated in connection with the case will be charged with smuggling and receiving stolen goods.
