Bulgarian Parliament Members Work on Legislation Before Summer Break

Bulgarian parliament to discuss ban on minors using e-cigarettes before summer recess, final vote expected this week.

According to 24chasa, Bulgarian lawmakers will be handling a significant amount of legal matters before their summer break, which is scheduled to begin on August 17th.

According to the parliamentary schedule, deliberations on the bill will continue until October 20th, before the general election. Despite the time constraints, members of parliament still need to pass several important legislations in the final week.

One of the legislation that has received much attention this week is the proposal to ban minors from using e-cigarettes.

According to this new law, e-cigarettes will be treated the same as alcohol and regular cigarettes, prohibiting use and sales to minors.

The proposal has passed its first reading and is expected to be finalized this week.

In addition, the proposal will also ban substances made from plants, herbs, and fruits that are used through burning or heating and do not contain nicotine or tobacco.
