Bulgarian Political Party Pushes for Comprehensive E-cigarette Ban Law

Bulgarian political party GERB is pushing for legislation to ban all types of e-cigarettes in the country.

According to a report by Mediapool on February 7th, the Bulgarian political party GERB is pushing for a legislative change to completely ban e-cigarettes, whether disposable or reusable, regardless of whether they contain nicotine.

At a press conference in parliament, GERB member and chairman of the Health Committee Kostadin Angelov announced the plan.

The bill completely prohibits the sale of e-cigarettes in Bulgaria, including import, trade, and distribution through physical and online channels. Additionally, amendments will be made to the Criminal Code to regulate criminal offenses related to the ban on e-cigarettes and energy drinks.

GERB leader Boyko Borisov has already started discussing the topic of e-cigarettes. Borisov emphasized that all political parties have signed this law, and if the committee completes its work on time, then next week, e-cigarettes will be urgently banned.
