China's e-cigarette export data for August 2024 shows a total of approximately $900 million, with a 10.23% decrease.

On September 20, the General Administration of Customs of China released the updated export trade data for e-cigarettes in August 2024. According to the data, the total export value of e-cigarettes from China in August was approximately $9 billion, a month-on-month decrease of 10.23% and a year-on-year increase of 2.39%. The export volume was around 20,000 tons, with a month-on-month decrease of 10.92% and a year-on-year increase of 2.9%.

America, the United Kingdom, and Germany are the top three export destinations, with Poland emerging as a new bright spot in Europe.

Data shows that the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, and Russia hold the top five export markets.

Specifically, the United States remains the largest destination for exports, despite a 5.19% decrease compared to the previous period, there is still an increase of 14.47% year-on-year, with exports reaching $288 million, securing an absolute market share.

Next are the United Kingdom and Germany. The UK saw a month-on-month decrease of 20.26% and a year-on-year decrease of 11.32%, with exports totaling 91.26 million US dollars. Exports to Germany reached 56.32 million US dollars, with a month-on-month decrease of 4.47% and a year-on-year decrease of 29.81%.

Additionally, South Korea's exports to Russia amounted to $52.93 million, while Russia's exports to South Korea were $42.26 million. Despite a month-on-month decrease of 55.93% in exports to Russia, a year-on-year increase of 33.96% indicates that Russia remains an important export market.

Other countries in the top ten include the Netherlands ($40.7 million), Malaysia ($35.84 million), Canada ($26.89 million), the United Arab Emirates ($24.62 million), and Poland ($21.76 million).


Malaysia saw a month-on-month growth of 19.3% and a year-on-year growth of 10.53%, indicating stable and sustained growth. Canada experienced a month-on-month growth of 16.38% and a year-on-year growth of 3.46%. In particular, Poland saw a month-on-month growth of 13.02% and a year-on-year growth of 85.10%, making it one of the fastest-growing markets in Europe.


Demand in global emerging markets has surged, with growth on Guam increasing over 10,000 times.


The rapid growth of emerging markets such as Guam, the Philippines, and North Macedonia indicates a sharp increase in demand for e-cigarettes in these markets, as noted by Firsts.


According to the latest data, the United States' overseas territory of Guam saw the highest month-on-month growth rate, with a staggering increase of 10296.34%. In North Europe, Iceland's e-cigarette exports increased by 1576.09% compared to the previous month, showing a significant growth trend. Papua New Guinea, located in Oceania, also experienced a month-on-month growth of 81.12% and a year-on-year growth of 92019.94%. The export value increased from $2,272 in August 2023 to $2.09 million in August 2024.


North Macedonia, Italy, and Poland, all located in Europe, also showed significant growth. North Macedonia saw a year-on-year increase of 658.64%, with a staggering 4435.43% increase compared to the previous period. Italy experienced a 326.81% year-on-year growth, while Poland saw an 85.10% increase.


In addition, Syria saw a month-on-month growth of 795.67%, while the Philippines and Myanmar in Southeast Asia saw growth of 403.66% and 509.97% respectively. Bangladesh in South Asia also showed significant growth potential, with a month-on-month increase of 60.69% and a year-on-year increase of 653.29%.


In addition, the total export volume is approximately 20,000 tons, showing a month-on-month decrease of 10.92% and a year-on-year increase of 2.9%.


The export unit price is $44.16 per kilogram, with a month-on-month increase of 0.78% and a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%; the average price of "e-cigarettes and similar personal electronic vaporizing devices" is $4.6 per unit.


Among them, "e-cigarettes and similar personal electronic vaporizers" account for 25% of the export product categories, while "non-tobacco or non-reconstituted tobacco nicotine-containing products for non-combustible consumption" account for 75%.
