According to a report by Sindonews, Ganjar Pranowo, the third Presidential candidate in Indonesia, made a statement during a meeting with tobacco farmers at the Empatlima tobacco warehouse in Kraden, Central Java. He expressed the opinion that Indonesia should establish a global tobacco center, with the Central Java region being the most suitable location. Furthermore, he suggested that such a center would allow for more extensive research and exploration of alternative uses for tobacco.
On the other hand, Pranovo discovered during his investigative visit that tobacco farmers are facing a shortage of fertilizers. He stated, "Tobacco farmers have certain expectations, one being the availability of fertilizers, as they are not receiving any subsidies." He added, "They don't actually want subsidies, the problem is why are fertilizers scarce? What has happened? Even if we don't seek subsidies, fertilizers are still scarce, so we need to prepare for fertilizer production and distribution from factories, so that they can meet their own needs.
