First Prosecution in Singapore Over Social Media Vaping Posts
A 25-year-old man in Singapore has been fined for posting videos and photos of himself holding or using e-vaporisers on social media platforms. The case marks the first prosecution by the Health Sciences Authority for such online content.

2Firsts, December 18 2025 – A 25-year-old man was fined S$12,000 (approximately US$9,300, original currency: Singapore dollar) for posting videos and photos of himself holding or using e-vaporisers on social media, according to Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA).

 

HSA said this was the first time it has prosecuted an individual for posting images of himself vaping on social media platforms.

 

The man, Krish Khalifa, who uses the account name “Rapperboya,” posted several videos and photos on his YouTube, Instagram and TikTok channels between November 2023 and September 2024. The content showed him holding or using e-vaporisers in public places and at home.

 

Investigations began after authorities received complaints from members of the public alleging that a TikTok video showed someone using an e-vaporiser.

 

Khalifa was also fined an additional S$2,000 (approximately US$1,550, original currency: Singapore dollar) after admitting to possessing three e-vaporisers featured in his social media posts.

 

HSA said that between January 1 and November 30, it identified and fined 38 individuals for posting photographs or videos of vapes on social media.
