According to UzDaily on November 6th, the Uzbekistan government has taken strong measures to combat illegal trading of liquor and tobacco between January and October this year. As a result, they have successfully thwarted illegal transactions worth a total of 1.4 billion soms (approximately 830,000 yuan).
During the inspection of 623 businesses and individuals involved in the marketing of alcoholic beverages, the illegal sale of 52689 alcohol products which lacked tax labels, had outdated tax labels, featured counterfeit tax labels, lacked compliance certifications, or lacked digital markings was successfully prevented.
In terms of tobacco products, authorities have successfully prevented 360 businesses and individuals from illegally selling 46,970 packs of untaxed and unmarked tobacco products.
