Urgent Call for Regulation of E-cigarette Market in Malaysia
The alarming increase in teenage e-cigarette use has raised widespread concern in Malaysia, according to Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Community Safety Alliance.

According to Malaysian media "Oriental Daily" on November 14, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Community Safety Alliance, stated that the increasing popularity of e-cigarette products purchased online, due to their convenience and low prices, has resulted in a growing concern over adolescent usage. He emphasized the crucial importance of the submission and passing of the "2023 Tobacco Products Public Health Act" (GEG).

Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye believes that the situation of teenagers using e-cigarettes has reached a point of almost being out of control. As a result, he is urging the government to swiftly establish appropriate legal framework through GEG to regulate the e-cigarette market.
