Imperial Brands Launches New E-cigarette Kits and Fruit Pods
Imperial Brands introduces new e-cigarette kits and fruit-flavored pods ahead of UK disposable e-cigarette ban on June 1.

Key Points:

1. Imperial Tobacco announced the release of three new kits and 11 new fruit-flavored pods in response to the UK's ban on disposable e-cigarettes starting on June 1st.

2. The demand for popular fruit-flavored e-cigarettes in the UK market is strong, with the new product from Imperial Tobacco meeting taste and convenience needs.

2Firsts, reporting from Shenzhen -Imperial Brands expanded its Blu Bare-cigarette range, launching three new kits and 11 new pods in the UK, Betterretailing reported.

Each kit included a rechargeable blu bar device and flavor pod, with a suggested retail price of £5.99. The three new kit flavors were Watermelon Ice, Blueberry Ice, and Blueberry Sour Razz.

Additionally, there were interchangeable dual pod combinations available in flavors such as Blueberry Ice, Lemon Lime, Strawberry Ice, Berry Mix, Kiwi Passionfruit, Mint, Apple, Grape, Banana Ice, Blueberry Cherry, and Triple Melon, with a suggested retail price of £5.99. Each pack can provide up to 1,000 puffs.

According to a research report by Nielsen, the ten most popular disposable e-cigarette flavors on the UK market were all fruit flavors, with Lemon Lime, Pineapple Ice, and Strawberry Ice being the top three best-selling flavors.

Suppliers hoped that the release of these new products would help retailers provide viable alternatives for consumers planning to switch to rechargeable e-cigarette systems before the disposable e-cigarette ban takes effect on June 1st.

Yawer Rasool, Imperial Tobacco's Consumer Marketing Director for the UK and Ireland, said that:

The vape market in the UK is being driven by two key factors – flavour choice and ease of use. As the availability of disposable vapes comes to an end in the UK, our extended Blu Bar range has been designed to be just as easy to use as a disposable vape product, while offering the most popular flavours in a reuseable pod format.

“Given that the overall pod market nearly doubled in the last year, mainly due to growth in the availability of products which offer the same convenience as disposable vapes, it is clear that the new Blu Bar kit and pods are a ‘must stock’ item for retailers.”
