Increasing Awareness of Tobacco Dangers: National No Smoking Day

The Arkansas Tobacco Free Alliance collaborates with Little Rock City to raise awareness of the harms of smoking and celebrate National Quit Smoking Day.

According to a report by KATV, the Smoke-Free Tobacco Alliance of Arkansas has partnered with various institutions, including the city of Little Rock, to raise public awareness about the hazards of tobacco smoke and celebrate the nationally recognized "American Quit Smoking Day.

On November 6, they will hold a press conference in the circular hall of the municipal hall in Little Rock, highlighting the negative health and economic impacts of smoking and e-cigarettes in the state of Georgia.

According to data from the Smoke-Free Tobacco Children's Movement, the number of deaths caused by smoking exceeds the total of deaths caused by alcohol, HIV/AIDS, traffic accidents, illegal drugs, homicide, and suicide.

The federation's executive director, Catherine Donald, expressed their hope that smokers and e-cigarette users in Arkansas could join national tobacco users on November 16th in making a commitment to quit smoking for at least 24 hours. They believe that this pledge will inspire them to transition towards a smoke-free/nicotine-free lifestyle.
