On June 15, 2022, the "2022 6th E-Cigarette Industry Standard and Compliance Conference and the E-Cigarette Export Trade Development Conference" hosted by the ECCC was held in Shenzhen Baoan, JW Marriott Hotel. During the conference, 2FIRSTS was able to interview Yao Haoyu, Hangsen Groups Deputy General Manager. He tells us about the past experience of the company along the growth of the industry.

Invisible Opportunity

Back in the second half of 2004, e-cigarettes just came out. At that time, Mr. Yao Jide, the founder of Hangsen Group, was still researching pharmaceuticals in the Yunnan factory. By chance, Yao Jide saw the first-generation e-cigarette brand, Ruyan's products, and felt that it was a promising product with a lot of room for innovation. It happened that a raw material developed by him was extracted from scrap tobacco. At that time, several thousand tons of e-liquids were discarded each year, but these discarded e-liquids were all under the exclusive control of the National Tobacco Monopoly Law. So the factory had the permission to able to purchase large quantities at that time. A raw material for making the required health care products.

This is half of the story. "During this process, founder Yao Jide made full use of this waste raw material, and at the same time extracted some flavors and nicotine. So in this case, he was the first to come into contact with the most critical raw material of e-cigarettes. "From the outsider's point of view, Yao Jide's work gave him the opportunity to use tobacco first-hand, but from the insider's point of view, this is far from his what he has envisioned.

Quality First, Safety First

Today, Hangsen Group’s bottled e-liquid exports are first in volume. Seeing Hangsen Group’s growth step by step, Yao Haoyu shared the company's export experience: "From the feedback of foreign buyers and the market, it is a must to pay attention to product safety. Because of relation to personal health issues, Hangsen Group was the first to make independent compliance model. Hangsen Group has always insisted that quality and safety comes first."

National Enterprise, Leading Position

Dealing with foreign buyers and customers, and discussing export trade rules, Yao Haoyu can be regarded as an expert in this regard. Hangsen Group has production bases in many countries and regions around the world, including Europe, the United States, and even South Korea something few other companies will do. We are also present in the Americas and Africa. In the production base in Poland, once the production is completed, it can be delivered to customers in EU countries in a timely manner, so as to seize the time limit and greatly improve the transportation efficiency.

When asked, the development of Hangsen Group has spread all over the world in 2022, what is the core of future development? Yao Haoyu said in the interview: "Under the supervision of national policies, we operate in compliance with laws and regulations, promote products abroad, and strive for foreign exchange for the country. E-cigarettes is a national industry that is unique to our country. We gained leading position through the efforts of all enterprises, do not let it fall to other countries, this is what we want to do."
