Mexico's President Plans to Propose Ban on E-Cigarettes in 2024

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador plans to propose a bill banning e-cigarettes and vaporizers before leaving office in 2024.

According to a report from Reuters on December 11th, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced on Monday (December 11th) his plans to propose a bill banning e-cigarettes and vaporizers before stepping down in 2024. This attempt had previously been rejected by the Supreme Court.

It has been proven that these substances are harmful to health," he said at his regular press conference on Monday.

According to reports, Mexico has implemented one of the strictest anti-smoking laws in the world since the beginning of the year, which includes a comprehensive ban on smoking in public places, including streets.

Furthermore, Mexico has already banned the importation of e-cigarettes.

Global criticism of e-cigarettes is growing as these nicotine-containing devices gain popularity among young people. Last month, Australia announced an import ban on these products.
