Police Crack Down on Illegal E-cigarette Sales in Thailand
Thai authorities have arrested 8 suspects for illegally selling e-cigarettes in Bangkok, confiscating over 3,500 units worth around $8,172.

According to MGR Online on June 11, the Thai Department of Crime Suppression raided residences near urban areas in Bangkok as well as schools in the vicinity, to crackdown on illegal sales activities. They arrested 8 suspects for illegal sale of e-cigarettes at 8 locations and confiscated over 3,500 e-cigarettes, estimated to be worth around 300,000 Thai Baht ($8,172.16).


Local police representatives, including Colonel Witthaya, set up a joint task force to investigate and arrest individuals involved in the illegal sale of e-cigarettes and their products. Senior officer Kraiwich and frontline officers were deployed for this operation. Many of the individuals who were apprehended were found engaging in illegal sales activities near schools in their neighborhoods.


The police also seized over 3,500 illegal products including e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquid from these locations, with an estimated value of around 300,000 Thai Baht (USD 8,172.16). Subsequently, the police filed charges against the illegal sellers and handed them over to local officers for further investigation and prosecution.

In the Wang Tha Phra area of Bangkok's Bang Kruai district, Veerana (21, last name withheld) sells e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquid. In the Suan Luang area of Bangkok's Suan Luang district, Benjawan (35, last name withheld) sells e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquid on On Nut Road at 32 On Nut 40 alley. In the Sai Mai area of Bangkok's Sai Mai district, Apisit (31, last name withheld) sells e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquid in a commercial building on Sukhaphiban 5 Road with no house number. In the Phra Khanong area of Bangkok's Bang Chak district, Chalonti (29, last name withheld) sells e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquid in front of the Hea Keak store on Udorn Suk Walk street in Sukhumvit 103 alley. In the Bang Phlat area of Bangkok's Bang Bamru district, Sumet (22, last name withheld) sells e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquid behind the Thonburi Thang Hua Seng department store. At the entrance of Silom 4 alley in the Suriyawong area of Bangkok's Bang Rak district, Apati (47, last name withheld) sells e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquid. Along Phat Phong Road in the Si Phraya area of Bangkok's Bang Rak district, Giralpan (42, last name withheld) sells e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquid. In the Khun Phra alley of Khlong Luang town in Khlong Luang county of Pathum Thani province, Giralvan (28, last name withheld) sells e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquid at The Grey Vape store, 27/6 Khun Phra alley.
