Police Seize £55,000 Worth of Illegal Tobacco Products in Leyland
Police in Leyland, UK seized illegal tobacco products worth £55,000 from a store, including cigarettes, hand-rolled tobacco, and e-cigarettes.

According to recent reports by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the British police have seized illegal tobacco products worth £55,000 in a shop in Leyland. The confiscated items include cigarettes, hand-rolled tobacco, and e-cigarettes.

 

This store was searched in November 2023 and a total of 1800 illegal goods were seized, including £5000 in cash. Lancashire Police has stated that Trading Standards will conduct further investigations into the matter.

 

According to Lancashire Police, the community policing team in South Ribble worked closely with the Trading Standards Agency during a search operation and successfully seized 1611 packets of illegal tobacco products. Dawn Robinson, an official from the Trading Standards Agency, emphasized that their team "will not tolerate unscrupulous businesses exploiting the youth of Lancashire, and will continue to take decisive action against them.

 

According to Dean Robinson, it was announced that they have seized a total of 1611 packs of cigarettes, hand-rolled tobacco, and e-cigarettes from the tightly organized Rylan store. This action is believed to enhance the safety of the local community, as the sale of these items could potentially contribute to addiction.

 

According to reports, this seizure operation is part of "Operation Centurion", as the police aim to crackdown on anti-social behavior.
