From October 24th to November 3rd, the Drug Crime Investigation Bureau of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, in collaboration with the public security department of Khanh Hoa province, conducted a series of awareness campaigns in border villages of Jiangcheng county and Hexian city. The objective was to enhance the awareness of residents in the Vietnam-Cambodia border region about drug prevention and resistance.
The event saw approximately 3,000 attendees, including students, teachers, public servants, military personnel, vendors, long-haul truck drivers, and residents from other provinces.
During the event, the spokesperson from the Drug Crime Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security disseminated information to the public concerning the policies and strategies implemented by the Communist Party, the nation, the government, and the Ministry of Public Security in their fight against drug crime. The spokesperson also shed light on the clauses related to drugs in drug law and administrative penalties law, as well as the signs to identify drug crime and drug dependency. Additionally, information was provided regarding the dangers of e-cigarettes among teenagers and students.
In addition, the speaker also encouraged the public to be vigilant, actively prevent and report drug crimes, and suggested that everyone should avoid engaging in drug activities and help educate individuals involved in improper behavior and illegal activity to remain sober. This is also a part of the annual work plan of the Women's Union of the Drug Crime Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security in 2023, as well as the promotion of the "Clean Border Villages Build Drug-Free" program.
