Punishment Imposed on Shop Illegally Selling E-cigarettes in Vietnam
Vietnamese police crack down on a shop selling e-cigarette products with unclear origins and sources, detaining the owner for investigation.

According to the Vietnam Labor News on October 6, the police department in Badi City is taking action against a shop that is illegally selling e-cigarette products. The shop is accused of allegedly selling e-cigarette products of unknown origin to the public.

During a surprise inspection operation conducted the previous day, the police discovered over a thousand varieties of e-cigarettes, e-cigarette accessories, and e-cigarette liquids at the Coffee Work Shop located in the Long Toan district. However, the store was unable to provide any proof regarding the origin and production location of these products.

The person in charge of the store, N.T.Q, has been detained and the illicit products have been sealed by the authorities as part of an investigation.

While the Vietnamese market takes a cautious approach towards the import and sale of e-cigarettes, the advertising and selling of these products are frequently observed on social media. Particularly concerning is the detection of synthetic cannabis substances within some e-cigarette liquids.

The authorities concerned stated that they are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident and will subsequently take appropriate legal action in accordance with the law.
