Russia: Restricting Hookah Services to Minors
The prosecutor of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia seeks to ban hookah services for young people, as the industry continues to thrive nationwide.

According to a report from Business Gazeta, the prosecutor in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, is seeking to prohibit the provision of hookah services to teenagers.

Currently, the hookah industry continues to spring up nationwide and actively organizes events across the country. It is reported that the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan, is surpassing Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod in the hookah industry. However, many business owners prefer to operate through franchising rather than independently developing their own brands.

Despite Russia's ongoing discussions of banning e-cigarettes for youths, retailers have already ceased public displays and sales of tobacco products since September. However, in a counterintuitive trend, the hookah industry is thriving. Currently, there are 115 hookah service points in Kazan.
