South Korea Adds Dedicated Vaping Lounges in Response to Growing E-Cigarette Usage

South Korea's Incheon International Airport and other commercial centers have added dedicated vaping lounges to accommodate the growing popularity of e-cigarettes.

According to Korea Bizwire on November 26th, South Korea is expanding the number of dedicated e-cigarette lounges to accommodate the increasing popularity of e-cigarettes.

Incheon International Airport and major commercial centers have introduced e-cigarette dedicated rest areas. Since June, Incheon Airport has converted three existing smoking areas into e-cigarette dedicated lounges, removing ashtrays and reducing the smell of traditional cigarettes. According to airport data, these rest areas receive an average of about 4,000 users per day, with a satisfaction rating of 4.2 out of 5 according to a survey conducted in September.

The airport spokesperson stated that: "We prioritize the accessibility and foot traffic of the lounge, providing convenience for both traditional smokers and e-cigarette users."

This trend is not limited to airports. In the Songpa district of Seoul, the Lotte World Tower has a designated e-cigarette area, while shopping centers like Starfield Suwon and Starfield Goyang also have such areas. Other districts such as Gangnam and Seongdong have also implemented smoking booths specifically for traditional cigarette and e-cigarette users.

Trump Signs H.R.5371: FDA to Deploy $200 Million for ENDS Enforcement

President Donald Trump signed the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2026 (H.R.5371) on November 12, Section 772 of Part B—the Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act (S.2256)—requires the FDA to allocate no less than $200 million in tobacco user fees to enforce regulations against illegal e-cigarettes, vapes, and other ENDS products.
