Student Hospitalized After Using THC E-Cigarette in North Carolina

A student at Central Davidson High School in Davidson County, North Carolina was hospitalized after vaping THC in an e-cigarette.

A student at a high school in Davidson County, North Carolina was sent to the hospital after smoking an e-cigarette containing THC.

Channel 9, in partnership with WXLV in Greensboro, reported that on Wednesday, a student at Central Davidson High School brought an e-cigarette to school, while two other students consumed marijuana from the e-cigarette.

One student felt nauseous and was taken to the hospital. Although no students are in life-threatening condition, the Davidson County Sheriff stated that such incidents could quickly escalate into fatal ones.

Davidson County Sheriff Richie Simmons said, "We have dealt with several cases involving confiscated marijuana, some of which have traces of fentanyl." Sheriff Richie Simmons said, "There may be fentanyl in this device, you don't know what it is, and with drugs like fentanyl, you don't get a second chance, you could die or become addicted for life."

Simon warns parents to supervise their children's actions. "It will be too late until a serious problem occurs.

WXLV reported that authorities have filed a juvenile petition against students caught bringing straws into the school.
