Surge in E-Cigarette Smuggling and Usage in Singapore
Four Singaporean men aged 16 to 24 were detained for attempting to smuggle e-cigarettes and accessories from Johor Bahru.

Four Singaporean men between the ages of 16 and 24 were detained and are now under investigation by authorities after attempting to smuggle e-cigarettes and accessories purchased from a shopping mall in Johor Bahru. According to a report by Lianhe Zaobao on December 28th.

 

Official data from the Singapore Health Sciences Authority shows that from 2018 to 2022, 860 individuals have been arrested for the trafficking and smuggling of e-cigarettes and their accessories, with 145 of them facing prosecution. Additionally, the number of individuals arrested this year for the possession and use of e-cigarettes has surged to 4916, nearly tripling from the 1266 individuals arrested in 2020.
