Teenage Girl Hospitalized Due to Suspected E-Cigarette Poisoning in Russia
A 9th grade girl in Saint Petersburg hospitalized for acute poisoning due to suspected e-cigarette; police investigate.

According to the Russian media Fontanka, in early March, a ninth grade girl from Saint Petersburg was hospitalized at Filatov Hospital due to acute poisoning. The incident is suspected to have been caused by an e-cigarette, according to the investigation.

Parents discovered the female student on the morning of March 8 next to vomit, holding a cigarette. Currently, the police have launched an investigation. The 15-year-old girl's health condition is worrisome. Doctors diagnosed her with acute poisoning, the toxic substance which will suppress the activity of the central nervous system. The girl comes from a stable family and has not been registered with the juvenile justice system.

There was also a similar case before. A fifth grade boy from Moscow exhibited abnormal behavior after attempting to make his own e-liquid and was admitted to a children's mental health center. Test results revealed that he had powerful drugs in his system that could cause hallucinations.

GSTHR Estimates 200 Million People Use Non-Combustible Nicotine Products as 28 Countries Show Rising Use Alongside Falling Smoking Rates
The Global State of Tobacco Harm Reduction, a project operated by Knowledge·Action·Change, estimates that about 200 million people worldwide use non-combustible nicotine products including vapes, heated tobacco, nicotine pouches and snus. Its 2026 report says use of these products rose alongside declining smoking rates in 28 countries it analyzed. The data do not establish that all 200 million users have quit smoking, nor do they prove a direct causal relationship. GSTHR also says regulatory restrictions on the products continue to expand in many markets.

Yinghe-Controlled Vape Maker SKE Ordered to Post £569,039 Security as It Pursues Crystal Bar Design Infringement Case in UK
The UK High Court has ordered Chinese vape manufacturer Shenzhen SKE Technology to provide £569,039 ($776,000) in security for costs in its design infringement proceedings against Vapepen London and other defendants over its Crystal Bar vape product. The court did not accept the defendants’ main argument that recovering costs from a China-based company would face significant enforcement obstacles, but found that SKE had not sufficiently disclosed its own financial position. The order is procedural and does not determine the underlying infringement claims.
