Thailand Crackdown on Illegal E-cigarette Sales Intensifies
Thai Police crackdown on illegal e-cigarette sales, intensifying monitoring near schools and religious areas, collaborating with customs to curb smuggling.

According to a report in Siamrath on February 24, Pol Lt Gen Achayon Kraithong, spokesman for the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, revealed that the government has ordered all units to crack down on illegal e-cigarettes. The Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, Pol Lt Gen Kittirat Panpech, was informed and immediately responded to this policy, instructing all units to strictly enforce measures and crack down on illegal e-cigarette sales activities.

The police emphasize that they will strengthen monitoring of schools and educational institutions to ensure that there are no longer any e-cigarette sales points in these areas. Places where there are rumors of e-cigarette transactions, especially those near religious sites, will also be closely monitored.

At the same time, the police plan to conduct strict inspections on smuggling activities at the border and airports in collaboration with relevant departments such as customs.

The spokesperson further pointed out that the chief emphasized the necessity for all units to strictly enforce their respective duties and increase inspection efforts. If any illegal activities are found, they must be thoroughly investigated and held accountable to ensure that no police officers are involved in seeking improper benefits or indulging in illegal activities. Any related illegal activities will be strictly dealt with in accordance with discipline, criminal law, and administrative regulations.
