Turkey Seizes Record Number of E-cigarettes and Cocaine
Turkey successfully seized 275,520 e-cigarettes and 35.2 kg of cocaine in a raid at Istanbul's Ambarlı port, according to Turkey's Mynet media.

According to a report by Turkish media outlet Mynet on November 28th, the Turkish Ministry of Commerce successfully seized 275,520 e-cigarettes and 35.2 kilograms of cocaine in an operation at Ambarlı Port in Istanbul.

Turkish Minister of Commerce, Ömer Bolat, praised the recent e-cigarette seizure as the largest in the country's history, according to a statement.

 

He emphasized that as the Ministry of Commerce, they will continue to combat those who attempt to harm public health and damage the national economy, and they will never give the green light to illegal trade and drugs.

Over the past two years, more than 10,000 online vape sale advertisements were removed, with about 99% linked to overseas platform posts. Enforcement includes bot-driven surveillance, public tip-offs, and site-blocking with partner agencies.

FDA Issues Draft PMTA Guidance for Flavored E-Cigarettes, Maintaining Higher Evidence Bar for Fruit and Sweet Flavors
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on March 9 released a draft guidance outlining its current thinking on premarket tobacco product applications (PMTAs) for flavored electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS). The document reiterates that fruit, candy, dessert, and other sweet-flavored e-cigarettes present a “significant public health risk” to youth and therefore face a higher evidentiary burden if manufacturers seek marketing authorization.
