According to an Alliance News report on September 13, the UK government is contemplating a ban on disposable e-cigarette devices in order to curb underage smoking. This move has been positively received by Supreme PLC, a prominent British electronic distributor engaged in the manufacturing and sales of e-cigarette products.
In a statement, Supreme expressed, "Supreme's overarching strategy has consistently revolved around advocating for a smoke-free UK by offering more reputable and safer nicotine consumption alternatives."
This company pointed out that the government, in its "Smoke-Free 2030" plan for April 2023, has confirmed that e-cigarettes are still the "most effective" tool for helping smokers stay away from traditional cigarettes. Supreme company emphasizes its confidence in e-cigarettes and states that it will continue to be the most reputable and effective alternative to smoking. In addition to disposable products, consumers can also choose from "open system" e-cigarettes and "pod" e-cigarette systems.
Supreme further clarified that there will be no new legislative enactment before formal consultation with the government.
Once the sale of disposable e-cigarettes is banned, Supreme anticipates that the majority of its current consumers will opt for other forms of e-cigarettes available on the market.
In addition, Supreme is planning to launch its own 88Vape replaceable cartridge e-cigarette as another alternative to its existing disposable products.
