According to UKVIA, the UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA) is preparing to launch the ninth annual VApril campaign next month. The association described it as the world’s largest vape awareness initiative.

VApril has spent nearly a decade supporting adult smokers with switching information

UKVIA said that for almost a decade, VApril has supported adult smokers looking to quit through vaping by providing evidence-based information, expert insights and practical guidance on making the switch.

UKVIA said VApril 2026 comes at a pivotal moment because the Tobacco and Vapes Bill is currently progressing through Parliament. The association said that while the government argues the legislation will help tackle youth access to vaping, which UKVIA supports as an objective, the Bill would also give ministers sweeping powers to introduce restrictions on flavours, packaging and product displays.

UKVIA said such measures could affect not only adult vapers but also smokers seeking to move to what it described as a less harmful alternative.

UKVIA plans research, guides and resources for consumers to contact MPs

According to the original report, VApril 2026 will, alongside its core mission of helping smokers quit, raise awareness of the Bill, highlight its potential impact on consumers and encourage vapers to speak up for the choices that helped them become smoke-free.

As part of this year’s campaign, UKVIA said it will run a full organic social media programme, publish evidence-based guides and factsheets, provide resources to help vapers write to their MPs, and give former smokers who quit through vaping a platform to share their stories.

The association also said it will provide campaign supporters with resources to direct customers to reliable information about vaping and encourage vape retailers to highlight moments when they helped smokers quit through a “Switch That Stuck” testimonial series.

The original report said VApril 2026 will also launch new consumer research examining awareness of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill, attitudes toward possible restrictions on vaping products, and whether vapers believe the government has their best public health interests at heart.
