25 Cities in Florida to Ban Smoking and E-cigarettes in Parks and Recreation Areas
Winter Park, Florida becomes one of the 25 cities in the state to ban smoking and e-cigarettes in parks and recreational areas.

According to reports from foreign media, Winter Park has become one of the 25 cities in Florida, USA, where smoking and e-cigarette use are prohibited in parks, beaches, and recreational areas. However, not all forms of smoking are banned.

This ban, which was first passed in a parliamentary meeting on November 8th, aligns with the amendment to the Florida Statute 386.209. It specifically applies to parks and outdoor areas owned or operated by municipal governments.

According to Jason Seeley, the director of the Parks and Recreation Department, the city government has implemented a ban on smoking and e-cigarette use in areas where children play and outdoor activities take place. Smokers may face certain charges if they disregard verbal warnings.

The ban is set to come into effect after the second reading, expected to take place at the next parliamentary session on December 13th.
