Chinese Tobacco Industry Achieves Record Tax and Revenue in 2023
Tobacco industry in 2023 achieves record-high business tax revenue of 152.17 billion yuan, contributing to economic stability and growth.

In 2023, the tobacco industry reported a total industrial and commercial tax revenue of 1.5217 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.6% compared to the previous year. It also achieved a total fiscal revenue of 1.5028 trillion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 4.3%. Both the tax revenue and fiscal revenue reached historical highs, making a positive contribution to stabilizing the overall economy, ensuring increased revenue for the national and local governments, and promoting economic and social development.
