Czech Health Ministry denies plans to ban e-cigarettes amid rumors circulating on social media, Minister Vlastimil Válek confirms.

According to Manipulatori on January 13th, rumors have been circulating on social media about the Czech government (including the Ministry of Health) planning to ban e-cigarettes or flavored e-cigarettes. Health Minister Vlastimil Válek confirmed to the media that there are currently no plans for such a ban. The Ministry of Health had originally planned to restrict fruit and other flavors, but this ban may now be delayed.

The European Union has not required us to take any similar measures, and this issue needs to be addressed across the whole of Europe.

Some addiction experts are calling for balanced regulation of e-cigarette sales. They recommend prohibiting colorful packaging and sweet flavors that appeal to children and teenagers, but suggest keeping fruit and tobacco flavors for adults looking to transition from traditional cigarettes to e-cigarettes.
