Disposables in Russia Rise in Prices while Drop in Sales

Russian e-cigarette market sees 18% price increase in 2024, while traditional cigarette prices rise by 10%, sales drop.

According to Russian news outlet RT, the price of disposable e-cigarettes in the Russian market has increased by 18% in 2024, reaching approximately 1300 rubles. At the same time, sales have decreased by 31% compared to last year. Research by experts shows that the average price of regular cigarettes in 2024 is 202 rubles. Data indicates that the average price of cigarettes has risen by 10%, while sales have decreased by 2%.

Furthermore, the research also notes that the average price of e-cigarette heaters is around 1000 rubles, with sales decreasing by 1%. On the other hand, the average price of heating rods in tobacco heating systems is 222 rubles, with a price increase of 9%, but sales only increasing by 1%.

According to Russian Duma member Sultan Khamzaev, a series of anti-smoking laws were passed last year and have had a positive impact. He emphasized that cigarette advertising and displaying cigarettes in shop windows are completely prohibited. However, there are still some business owners who are not complying with these laws.
