DTI Task Force Seizes Unregistered and Non-Compliant Products

DTI's "Karasa Task Force" seized 89.7 million worth of unregistered and mislabeled products in just three months.

According to a report from Business Mirror on July 15, the "Karasaig Task Group" of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the Philippines has confiscated uncertified and non-compliant products worth 89.7 million pesos (1.53 million US dollars) from April to present.

In a period of three months, the task force seized a total of 311,206 unlicensed and non-compliant products and e-cigarette products worth 89.7 million pesos (1.53 million US dollars). This included 54,000 illegal e-cigarette products worth 27.9 million pesos (480,000 US dollars).

The DTI stated that "due to license violations, Tanza City was immediately issued a closure order and personally sealed by the agency. The license only listed consumer goods and did not declare the sale of electronic products and appliances.
