German Authorities Bust Illegal Tobacco and E-cigarette Ring in Operation
German authorities seized 650kg of shisha tobacco, 3000 e-cigarettes, and €9000 in Dortmund, Bochum, and Witten on August 7th.

According to a report by Zoll on August 7th, the German Customs Investigation Bureau seized approximately 650 kilograms of water pipe tobacco, 3000 e-cigarettes, and 9000 euros in cash during a raid conducted in Dortmund, Bochum, and Witten.

According to authorities, the investigation started last November. The focus of the investigation is a 34-year-old Syrian man and his associates, who are suspected of illegally producing and selling shisha tobacco in Germany and other European countries. However, no arrests have been made during this time.

The prosecutor's office explained that there were no clear reasons for detention. Common reasons for detention typically include the risk of fleeing or destroying evidence.

In a commercial property in Bochum, customs forces discovered a fully dismantled production facility for manufacturing water pipe tobacco, as well as counterfeit packaging materials for a brand manufacturer.
