Germany Customs Bust Huge Counterfeit Goods Operation
German customs in Frankfurt discovered a large quantity of suspected counterfeit goods in raids in Hesse, leading to arrests.

According to a report by Epochtimes on June 24, the customs investigation department in Frankfurt, Germany discovered a large quantity of counterfeit goods during a search in the cities of Dreieich and Langen in Hesse.


During the search, investigators found 36 pallets of suspected counterfeit designer clothing, three pallets of health supplements, over 1000 boxes of untaxed and suspected counterfeit cigarettes, and 10,700 untaxed e-cigarettes that were not authorized for sale in the German market.


In a search conducted by the police on June 12, two suspects aged 42 and 58 were arrested. The 42-year-old suspect attempted to flee but was unsuccessful. Both individuals are currently detained and facing charges.


They are accused of being involved in smuggling and tobacco trafficking, illegal firearms trading, and violating trademark and drug laws.


According to investigators, it would take three trucks to transport the smuggled goods. Additionally, six vehicles were also seized.


Assets worth over 1.6 million euros have been frozen. Currently, authorities are conducting authenticity checks on the seized clothing, tobacco, and pharmaceuticals.
