In 2022, Germany exported e-cigarettes worth 469,959,740 euros (FOB value), approximately 470 million euros or 504 million US dollars. The total weight of e-cigarettes exported amounted to 5,722,761 kilograms, equivalent to 5,723 tons. The average unit price for e-cigarettes was 82.12 euros per kilogram (88.06 US dollars per kilogram).

 

Germany had a net import of e-cigarettes, totaling 485,172,879 euros or approximately 485 million euros, which is equivalent to 520 million US dollars. The weight of these imports amounted to 4,977,555 kilograms, or 4,978 metric tons. It is important to note that these figures do not take into account the difference in CIF and FOB prices.

 

According to data released by the General Administration of Customs of China, in 2022, China exported approximately $1.939 billion worth of e-cigarettes to the 27 countries of the European Union, with a total weight of 24,900 tons. Out of this, direct exports to Germany accounted for $619 million and 6,153 tons, representing 31.92% and 24.71% of the total respectively.

 

According to data released by Eurostat, Germany directly imported e-cigarettes from China worth 591,711,111 euros (approximately 635 million US dollars) and weighing 5,165,002 kilograms in 2022.

The data reveals that China, Malaysia, and Vietnam are the top three importing countries, while Italy, Portugal, and the Czech Republic are the top three exporting countries. China remains the primary source of e-cigarettes for Germany, but Malaysia, coming in second place, has already exceeded the combined total of all other countries.
