Indian authorities arrest 14 for illegal e-cigarette and knife sales.
Indian Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh crime officials arrested 14 individuals for illegal e-cigarette and knife sales on Monday, August 26.

According to a report from The Hindu on August 27, officials from India's crime investigation department announced on Monday (26th) that at least 14 people in Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh have been arrested for allegedly selling, storing, transporting, and purchasing banned e-cigarettes and switchblade knives.


The department reported that approximately 2,700 e-cigarettes and 700 knives were confiscated in the capital region. These e-cigarettes were delivered to customers in the form of packages by online companies.


Officials from the department received a tip-off that individuals were selling e-cigarettes in Delhi, while other suppliers were stockpiling large quantities of e-cigarettes in the Old Delhi area.


The investigation began on August 8th. Police are planning to raid these hiding spots and warehouses. After confirming the identity of the sellers, police determined that the suspected sellers would drive with their accomplices to the location after receiving goods from a known supplier. Acting on a tip, police intercepted two vehicles in the Sherpao Bagh Club area of the city and seized over 380 e-cigarettes after a thorough search.


The police filed a case based on the relevant provisions of the "e-cigarette prohibition law.


The police stated that the e-cigarette sales operation had been running for over two years, mainly serving customers in the Delhi-NCR region and delivering through online delivery companies.
