Jiayao Holdings Launches Tobacco Research Project with Jiayao Research Institute
On December 6, Hong Kong Stock Exchange listed company Jiayao Holdings Limited (01626.HK) announced the launch of a new tobacco research project.

On December 6th, Jiayao Holdings Limited (01626.HK), a publicly listed company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, announced the formal launch of a new tobacco research project. The company has established Jiayao Science and Technology Research Limited (Research Institute) in Shenzhen, aiming to leverage its industry chain advantages to collaborate with scientific research institutions in forming joint research teams for the development of underlying technologies and new materials. The Research Institute was established on October 20th, 2023, with Mr. Wang Yiqi, the Vice President of the company, leading the project.

FDA Issues Draft PMTA Guidance for Flavored E-Cigarettes, Maintaining Higher Evidence Bar for Fruit and Sweet Flavors
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on March 9 released a draft guidance outlining its current thinking on premarket tobacco product applications (PMTAs) for flavored electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS). The document reiterates that fruit, candy, dessert, and other sweet-flavored e-cigarettes present a “significant public health risk” to youth and therefore face a higher evidentiary burden if manufacturers seek marketing authorization.
